14882 in good running condition in Sarasota, FL since 9 July 2014. Reprinted in the original tangerine color with black interior. Haven't made out the engine number yet. Wheels are currently non-stock.

By the way, I'm looking for #13921, mustard green, black interior, white Jensen Healey stripes. My father was the original owner, and I learned to drive in this car.

Hey Guys.... Was exchanging e-mail with Ric Calver recently. As many of you know...he's such a great guy and a wealth of knowledge. I was trying to do some research on a few old JH's that my brother and I owned in the 80's and 90's, and Ric was able to help me figure out the VIN's on these cars. Thought I would mention them here and see if anyone might have any other clues to share.

The first is a Mark II 4-speed (steel bumpers), VIN 1110/16799. This was my first JH that I owned in KS during my high school and college years. When I parted with the car in 1988, I actually traded it in (!) at a Honda dealership in Kansas City. Car was yellow with black interior (original exterior color was white).

The second is my older brother's former '73 Mark I, VIN 1110/10728. It was originally yellow with black interior, but had been painted red during his ownership prior to selling the car in Lawrence, KS in '89. According to Ric, the car was apparently owned by a gentleman named Don Mitchell through '98 (who also owned VIN no.'s 11467 and 10523). I didn't see Don's name on the current JHPS directory, so wondering if anyone here might have an idea...???

The last one is my former '75 Mark II 5-speed, VIN 1110/20000 (not a misprint). It was blue with black interior and had the rubber bumpers, of course. I owned the car from '92-'94 in Orange County in Southern California. After a private party sale, I haven't seen anything from the car since.

If anyone here has any info on these, I'd be curious. Thanks a bunch!

Rick

Newly acquired 74 Jensen Healey # 18767. I believe I am the third owner, the second owner having parked the car outside for the last 4 years and did not touch it once. Car seems like it has lived its entire life here in the Rochester area - first owner was apparently an administrator at U of R.

Still cleaning out the mouse and snake nests but its complete and after a ton of sorting and a paint job, should be back on the road next summer. The forum is a great help - thanks to all who have shared their experiences.

You've got a great local resource right down the road: group member Brett Gibson is very close.  He's been very helpful to me during my rebuild.  I don't think there is much he doesn't know about our cars.

Here's a few VIN numbers, as a catchup.

#19377, which was a body from another unknown vin number car that I rebadged as 19377 because I had a rusted out car with that title and no title for the good body, is now dead and gone. Totaled in a wreck, stripped, and sent to the crusher. The motor from it (I don't know the block number but can get it if desired) is being used in another body with an illegible VIN as a dedicated race car. All I know about this second body is it had a California plate of 639KID and was in Cupertino, California.

#17749 is a rusted out parts car which will never be on the road again. It's too far gone but I'm keeping it for parts.

I still have several blocks sitting around, if anyone (Roger?) needs the numbers off those.

a place to look for the vin is on the drivers side frame rail in the engine bay, about mid way towards the front. they normally stamp it in there, but depends on how much paint and grime if you can see it.

Hi,

i have a 1974 with a ford 289 cu. in. V8 engine.   Original trans and rear end.  Am having overheating issues, even thou car has a custom made cross flow radiator. Am considering adding an electric fan in front of the radiator.  Any tips in this area would be appreciated.

Would like to see your car someday, I live in the South Bay of Los Angeles county.

Thanks for your time,

JJ   sunflowerkansas@yahoo.com

Also, I need a JH fuse box,  mine has off and on failures.

1974 JH VIN #19769 61,000 miles

The car has been garaged its whole life in southern california. No rust.  White paint is in OK condition.  Has factory hardtop.  Soft top and tonneau cover originals stored in garage.  Black interior is beautiful and original and the clock still works.  Drivers seat does have a small rip along the seam.  I moved the battery into the trunk and ran the cables down the tunnel years ago. Also installed a cutoff battery switch from a marine store.  Factory wheels have never been polished, but look great.  The V8 engine makes the car a real sleeper as it has no outward signs of what's under the hood.  The sound coming out of the back gives the V8 engine away.  It does have some over heating issues that I am working on.

I live in Gardena and sometimes attend the monthly JH preservation society meeting.
