Hi,
I just acquiered GT #30344 in Tennessee and imported it to Germany.
It is first hand and to be on the road it just needs a bit of TLC.

I guess this is my introductory post. I'm now the owner of the 1974 #14289, it's still yellow, the interior is somewhere between rough and what in the heck happened to it condition. The strombergs on still on it, the tin for the K&N air filters are in the trunk but the elements are missing. The top needs to be replaced, there is no boot for the top, and the wiring under the dash is hanging down and appears to have encountered Edward Scissorhands at some point.

Mechanically the driveline seems to be okay, but I have no idea how old the timing belt is so I guess that's one of the first things I need to replace after getting a new master cylinder for it. The brake pedal sinks to the floor and there are no visible leaks from the lines or hubs, so my guess is internal corrosion and crud destroyed the rubber cups in the MC.

I just purchased #19753 off of Craigslist SF Bay Area. It has JH5 badges but is a filthy non-runner.

I'll bring the old girl home Wednesday or Thursday when I rent a car trailer.

The head is in the boot and the radiator is missing but the rest of the car seems to be there. It has California non-op registration and was being driven as recently as last year.

The original color was yellow but it now sports a faded red. The odometer reads 20,000 miles but the car looks like 120,000.

More later,

Kurt Housh

JH5 19753, The Red Fox, has the original Jensen Healey branded floor mats and the rust to prove it! The floors will need to be replaced at a minimum.

I'm still cleaning loads of barn dust and spider webs and fumigated the crevices before daring to bring her into the garage.

I'll inspect the rockers today before making a plan for the old girl.

I almost hit a red fox on the highway while towing her home thus the name.

Picked up my second... '73 - 10927 built on 12/22/72. Merry Christmas to me. She needs a lot of cleaning and a gentle test run to find out her tic's.

VIN 12655
ENG B730527
Currently white with a black stripe on the side

Bought two months ago from a friend who has owned it for most of the last 34 years, it was also owned by a relative of his for a few years.

I am currently repairing rust in the floor, sorting the car out and doing other repairs.

Unfortunately, it did not come with a key so I have not tried to start it yet.

My new '73 Jensen Healey has been sitting in a storage shed since the 90's, at least, but she's cleaning up nicely and will be on the road once a new timing belt is in.

Vin 12465
Engine: B73032 454 (This is the rare Chevy big block:-)

Weber DCOE carbs

Have no idea if there are any other engine mods, but it is clean as a whistle under the hood, aside from sand that has blown in during its desert storage.

The car has sway bars front and back, a roll bar, Spax shocks, and Monza exhaust.

1974 Jensen-Healey VIN 15125. Originally Mustard Yellow and now Guards Red. Purchased March, 1990 in Columbus, GA. New interior and carpet done in late 90's. Has recent rebuilt engine, transmission and suspension from Bruce Madden here in Atlanta.

Installed SPAX adjustable shocks, urethane bushings and have a factory hardtop. Just upgraded the wheels and tires to 15". Great car, fun to drive and now 40 years old.

Currently adding aftermarket AC to help beat the Atlanta heat.

Picture is on Tail of the Dragon...318 curves in 11 miles....Hwy 129 in Tennessee near Great Smoky Mountains.

This road was made for a Jensen-Healey!

It's been a year since I asked, with no responses, so...

Is there now an estimate on how many JHs are still on the road? Are we still guessing at about 6% per the last entry on Richard Calver's site? Not that it's good to celebrate the demise of so many, but it's kind of cool to have someone ask and say "yeah, this is one of about 700 left in the world".
