J-H, GT owners: having run out of Stromberg rebuild kits, I ordered some but they NO LONGER HAVE THE CUPPED THROTTLE SHAFT SEALS(our 2 carbs needed 3, and each kit had 2 in it, so you got one extra). One supplier tried to tell me they "NEVER CAME IN THE KIT"??needless to say, I told him I had rebuilt well over 300(150+ pairs) and they always did. Fortunately, I saved the extras, so I probably have over 100 that will be needed for proper rebuilds. I did some "light" searching for them online, and most want you to buy the seal in its brass holder, but that is not necessary(VERY easy to reshape the brass cup if bent after removal). If you call for a rebuild kit, be sure to ask them about that cupped seal; many I have rebuilt were brittle and fell apart

Bruce, Just so I'm clear you're talking about the brass/rubber bushings for the throttle shaft, good to know. It's one of the things I've found over the years that's usually not included in the aftermarket rebuild kits. I always replace the throttle shafts too, I've found if you've got an air leak that's usually where you'll find it.

Yes; most of the rebuild kits I have bought(usually 10 at one time) included those seals. There were 2 /pack so I always wound up having an extra(only 3 needed for our 2 carbs), which thankfully I saved that extra one, and now have well over 100 "extras" for the kits that do not come with them
