"What's my car worth?" In
general, a running, functional Jensen Healey or Jensen GT in California
goes from $4,000 to as high as $14,000 depending on condition/level
of restoration. Very nice, unmolested, stock, low mileage examples
will tend to be in the $5,000 - $6,000 range. Restorations, depending
on quality and investment, range from $6,500 to 12K for the seldom
seen, show winning, concours car. Non-runners go from $0 to about
$1,000. High-end examples may have Lotus 907 engine performance
modifications,
(2.2 liter stroker crankshafts, high
compression pistons, performance cams, 45mm Dellortos) paint and
interior upgrades (custom wood, custom leather, etc.) besides being
in show or near show condition. In general, deduct for other, non-Lotus
engine conversions. The car's value for upgrades will weigh heavily
on the tastefulness of the upgrades. Again, deduct considerably
for badly modified examples (i.e.: aluminum dashboards, extensive
use of non-English components or Ferrari badges/tail lights on the
back). |
For Sale 1973 Jensen Healey Mark I Convertible, dark green with black interior, tan top. Equipped with what was for 1973 a brand new 2 litre, 16 valve, twin cam 4 cyl. Lotus built 907 engine with twin Stromberg carburetors. 10,000 of these cars were built between 1972-1976. They are rare today. This is a running driving car, daily driver category. 27,644 on odometer (unconfirmed), VIN # 11939, it was manufactured on 7-4-1973, GVWR 2566 lbs. It is equipped with a JVC am/fm/cassette, shop manual comes with it, last inspection sticker 2001. This is one of the cleanest 1973 Jensen Healey bodies you will ever find. For Sale 1974 Jensen Healey Vin# 15042 I have own this car since 2001 and have had a great time with it. I’ve auto crossed it (see Dan Collier’s web site, Russ Rinner Spinout) and had a ball. In 2006 it went in for a restoration and now is a gem. Took third place at the 2006 San Diego British Car Day. A real show stopper. Hate to get rid of it but my interests have turned to Acoustic Guitar Building and I need the space in the garage. Under the bonnet the 907 lotus engine is a beauty. 45mm Delortos, Head is ported and polished, 107 cams, racing clutch, new 3 core radiator and water pump done in 2008. 4 speed tranny, tonneau cover, and caribou top in great shape, chromed and polished stock wheels. Matching air dam. Upholstery is in great shape. Really nice car. What’s not working, Clock, fuel gauge. Motorize antenna has been moved to the rear drivers side quarter panel for a very clean looking front view. Asking 10K. For Sale 1973 Jensen Healey VIN 11002, and 1974 Jensen Healey VIN 15648. Both cars made their way east from sunny California approximately 25 years ago and are virtually rust free. Plans to restore one for show and one for "go" have faded and the cars have languished in my garage, disassembled, and under an ever thickening layer of dust for 20+ years. For Sale 1973 Jensen Healey with chevy camaro 2.8 multiport fuel injection motor and 5 speed trans conversion. Swap was done cleanly. Motor and trans runs strong and pulls hard. this is a running project, interior is in good shape and wear due to age. Passenger side inside door handle is inop. some gauge dont work, has no e brake. new shocks, struts, and all new suspension bushings, tank is in truck and setup for fuel injection. Top is in good shape. For Sale 1974 Jensen Healey, VIN 17220, 80,048 miles, green with tan interior. I have owned this car since 1990 and have always stored it in a garage and I believe the previous owners did as well, no rust or dents. The car has had no modifications and is in excellent condition inside and out. It is in excellent shape mechanically as well, the engine runs great. The only issue it has is a soft brake pedal and it probably needs a brake job. The car is located in Langley Washington, asking price is $5,800. For Sale 1974 Jensen Healey red with tan interior and black top. vin # 16431 . Mileage on odometer is 30,761, not sure if it is correct. Purchased several years ago. I have put over 3,000 miles on it since I have owned it. Car was gone through and upgraded by Bruce Madden. Over $1,600 in part and labor. Engine, transmission, clutch, brakes all work well. Oil pressure is excellent. Paint in in good shape. Interior is in excellent condition, dash is in very good condition. Black top including boot cover and tonneau cover are all in excellent shape. Tool bag is complete. Car came with many extra parts which I have kept. Extra transmission, gas tank, rear end, 4 tires and wheels and many other parts which I have never needed.
