"What's my car worth?"

In general, a running, functional Jensen Healey or Jensen GT in California goes from $4,000 to as high as $14,000 depending on condition/level of restoration. Very nice, unmolested, stock, low mileage examples will tend to be in the $5,000 - $6,000 range. Restorations, depending on quality and investment, range from $6,500 to 12K for the seldom seen, show winning, concours car. Non-runners go from $0 to about $1,000. High-end examples may have Lotus 907 engine performance modifications, (2.2 liter stroker crankshafts, high compression pistons, performance cams, 45mm Dellortos) paint and interior upgrades (custom wood, custom leather, etc.) besides being in show or near show condition. In general, deduct for other, non-Lotus engine conversions. The car's value for upgrades will weigh heavily on the tastefulness of the upgrades. Again, deduct considerably for badly modified examples (i.e.: aluminum dashboards, extensive use of non-English components or Ferrari badges/tail lights on the back).

For Free Two bonnets (hoods). One has fantastic edges w/ no rust, but the center is rusted and warped above the carbs due to that pesky fire thing. The second hood is in great shape except for some rusted areas around the edge. Make one out of two, or fix one. One boot lid ( trunk lid ), in fine condition. All three for free, but I will not ship. Come and get the or they'll be off to the scrap yard in June. Too much stuff in my way! Norm Vandal, PO Box 67, Roxbury, VT 05669 vandal@tds.net Tel. For Sale
1974 Jensen Healey, VIN 19738. I rescued the car from a junk yard in 2005, because I could not stand to see it wasting away. However, I just finished restoring my 1958 TR3, and my heart and my checkbook are not into the Jensen. With the Triumph home, I have no place to store the JH. The car is not running. The engine turns but three of the cylinders have low compression. It has a five-speed transmission, but I do not know what condition the transmission is in. It has lots of rust in the usual places (floor pans, trunk lid). The interior is not in good condition; the dash and wood are cracked. The car could be used for parts. In addition, I have spare parts including a hard top, two used seats, and new gas tank (yes, I bought one of those tanks from Jorge Cervera). The car has a non-operative California title. For a short time, the car can be seen at Britalia (Walter Kelley) in Fullerton, CA. After that, the car will be in Big Bear Lake, CA. I am asking $1,800 for the car and all of the spare parts. I am hoping the car can be used to help someone complete a restoration or racing project. ekjcetter@hotmail.com (Big Bear Lake, CA) (5/1/08)

SOLD 1975 Jensen-Healey VIN 20489 I am the third owner of this Jensen Healey which has 29,237 original miles. I purchased the car last year with the intent of doing a complete restoration however I do not have the time. The car has always been stored inside. The car does drive, however it needs a new master cylinder and a thorough inspection before taking it on the road. The exterior does need a new paint job and shows very minor surface rust in one or two spots. The interior is ok but also needs some work. The wood is showing some cracks. I have a car hauler and would deliver the first 100 miles outside of Kansas City. $1,500 or best offer. (MO) (4/15/08)

For Sale 1974 Jensen-Healey, Vin# 15140,17,953 miles on odometer. This car is Tangerine red with black interior, Recaro drivers seat. 4 speed trans. Weber carburetors with KN filters. Equipped with front and rear sway bars, Koni shocks and heavy duty springs. Cornering capability of this car is amazing, even on old tires! Car also has a padded roll bar with custom tonneau that fits over roll bar and cockpit. Electronic ignition (Pirhana), I bought a new Smiths tachometer but it is for stock JH and does not work with elec. ignition. Body is overall good with a few small garage dings. Its has original JH wheels (4) but tires are very old and brittle and should be replaced. This is a very fast JH and with proper wheels and tires and a little more invested in mechanicals could be an awesome weekend warrior or the platform for just some very enjoyable touring. Asking price $ 7,000.00 Call Paul Jones at 602-564-0101 for more info. (Arizona) (4/8/08)

For Sale 1973 Jensen-Healey .Vin. # 11039 I Bought this car off of the show room floor of Weaver-Beatty Imports in Denver in 1973 when I was 20 years old. After a couple of years of enjoyment I traded it for something else. I always regretted parting with the car and as luck would have it I stumbled across it about 20 years later in 1982. The car was in rough condition but I bought it back for a 40th Birthday present to myself. The body has been restored and repainted to a beautiful emerald green metallic with a little gold pearl mixed in. Unfortunately the odometer was not working so the mileage is unknown. The seats have been professionally recovered and look as new. I put new Dunlop tires on the original wheels a few years ago and they have maybe as much as 600 miles of wear. The clutch took on a little extra wear while getting car on a car hauler when I moved to Phoenix and will probably need work. Otherwise the mechanicals are ok. I have the original air cleaner but have installed KN filters on the original Stromberg carbs. I have original top boot and tonneau. Asking $6800.00 Call Paul Jones at 602-564-0101 for more info. (Arizona) (4/8/08)

This is a great car. I have a recent back injury and can no longer drive it. The car is and has been garaged. There are only a couple of quarter-sized rust spots that just recently started due to our garage door buckling. Other than that the body is in very good shape. It has the usual slight hood warp from the support arm. It could be driven as-is, but is would appreciate a paint job. Mechanically, the car is great. We have removed the air filter, but still have it. (better performance) It has recent head gasket and head re-surfacing done. Replaced hoses, re-built water pump, new battery, rebuilt alternator, other miscellaneous stuff. The tires have about 1500 miles on them. The wheels are the original. The car is original, but a few things were done. the orininal interior was tan. The previous owner painted it black. A roll bar was installed when it was new. It comes with an awesome one-of-a-kind custom hardtop. The soft top is not original, but fits, we relaced it with one from a different year. The car has press-tabs (snaps) on it which would coincide with ones on the original soft-top (it was in bad shape). The 5-speed manual transmission is in fine form. No problems forseen. The dash lights are not connected. We are the third owners of this car. please ask any and all questions. If you want to discuss delivery and pick-up options, please feel free to do so. $4,800, You can e-mail lamika@charter.net or call 541-251-4847. (3/17/08)
