I'm coming down the home stretch on the race car and looking to rough align my JH.  The JH suspension geometry is not one I've dealt with before. It has two arms from the lower subframe to the lower suspension arm that looks like it is there to provide support.  It also looks as if it could provide toe in or out because it can push or pull the lower arm.

What is the correct way to set this thing up? Lower the car on the suspension and then make it tight?  How tight?  And, how - I have about 1.5" of clearance between the floor and my roll bar, thus there is no way to tighten this thing up in a normal garage, you'd need a lift with a cutout in the middle to pull this off.

Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks,

Ron

The control arm adjusts the castor. The torque is 32 lbs.

Put the tires on pier blocks or 12 x 12 wood blocks and insert jack stands for redundancy.

Thanks for that, you know, as I was going to sleep last night I thought caster, but then still thought it would have an effect on camber.  Of course, any camber effect could be dialed back out with the rack.  I want as much caster as I can get in the front so we'll pull them back a bit.

Okay, I'll do that today.  I've been starting it and adjusting timing etc. too, Judson's motor sounds mean but my thermostat wasn't open by 190F so I shut down - going to go back with the cut out thermostat I had - I don't want to risk frying this motor. I'd be unhappy and Judson would be pissed!
