I've searched around and checked the manuals, but haven't been able to find any spec for the differential flange to driveshaft torque for the 4 attaching bolts on the 4-speed. If anyone has it, let me know- Thanks, Corey |

Assuming the later, larger flanges that use the 3/8" X 24 threads/inch, standard torque would be 44 ft-lbs for a grade 5 bolt. 40 would probably be all as there is very little tension or compression of the bolts |

Thanks for the reply. The bolts are on a 1973 and are 5/16", if that makes a difference. |

Sent a "private message" chart so you could print it: https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81HOHszn-zS.jpg The one I have used for years came from the back of a Snap-On catalog |

I think the drive shaft flanges use those compressed out of round lock nuts, don’t they? I’ve never worried about the torque on those. |

So, according to the torque chart for grade 5, fine pitch(24 threads/inch) for a 5/16" diameter bolt, that would be 22lbs-ft |
