I finally got around to getting the new tonneau (from Delta) cover on. Decided to take to an upholstery shop so it would be done right. They are saying there is no way it will fit, as the head rests are too high. The cover won't reach. Do other tonneau covers have had rest pockets? Mine does not. Any trick to putting the cover on?

Thanks

The original tonneau covers are the same way; you need to lay the seats back for clearance!! At least they made a slot for the steering wheel!

Don,

It's probably a Robbins tonneau they don't have headrest pockets. You can tilt the seatbacks forward or do what I did just remove the headrests altogether and then the tonneau fits just fine.

Thanks for the quick answers. When I went back to upholstery shop they had figured that out. But since I am tall and have to have the seat all the way back, every time I get in or out I would have to move both the seat and seat back. It seems like the back has to be tilted back, not forward which doesn't lower the head rest very much. I'm too lazy to do that so it probably wouldn't get used.

Soooo - For $180 the shop will put in head rest pockets. Sigh.

For $180, that's a pretty good deal. If they were to advertise that, they would likely get a good bit more business.

Final product. BTW - the crate is a new JH windscreen from Martin Robey. The windscreen was pretty reasonable at about $300. Getting it here was over $700.

Doesn't look too bad!
btw: Pilkington has been selling J-H windscreens for a long time. Not sure if you had contacted them, but their cost used to be just over $400 delivered. Here's their site for those reading:

I made an inquiry to Pilkington, and will let everyone know if they respond. I don't need one now, but curious if I could have had one cheaper. Club store, Delta don't have, and Martin Robey only recently got the new owners of the English producer (bought by a company in Finland) to run a small batch. They have a couple left.
