Can anyone tell me the size of the flywheel attaching bolts, I am looking a replacement part number I can buy a auto supply store in usa, like ARP , mr gasket or spectre. I believe they are 7 /16-20 × .90, but not sure, I am having my clutch replaced a would like to supply them with the correct part. Thanks |

The correct bolts are not made to industry standards. Any standard bolt you buy, even if it's made by ARP, etc, will not be correct. Suck up and buy the correct bolts from a Jensen-Healey or Lotus parts specialist... even if you need to buy online. Looking for some clarification on this topic. I removed my flywheel and although the bolts are in good condition I generally like to use new bolts when reinstalling. I ordered the ARP bolts from Martin Robey that are listed for this application (same as BMC A-series as it turns out). Why would Martin Robey list and sell parts that are not correct? They don't even list an alternative under the JH part number. |

Maybe call ARP directly and ask them? Having done 100s of clutch and flywheel resurfacing(in order to change the rear main seal at the same time), I've always reused the flywheel bolts with absolutely no problems whatsoever. Just be sure to use sealer(I use Permatex #2) on all the 6 bolts as they are open to the return oil behind the seal. Also, pay VERY close attention to reinstalling the seal housing as the oil slinger can very easily get rotated and cause one of the "fingers" to get sandwiched between the housing and block face. |

Again, I'm not sure how just oil would stop the return oil behind the seal housing would not seep through the threads on the bolts? |

I took this to mean using regular oil as the head lubricant rather than the supplied ARP Ultra Torque. Not sure why anyone would do that since it comes with the bolts. In any case, I used thread sealant on the bolts. |
