The only information I can find is the date of the event on jenseneast.org. Can anyone tell me what the scheduel is? I've sent unanswered email and text to hosts Don and Kathy. I'd like a little more information before I submit registration with $125 per person.

Hey Sander! I replied on the Jensen-cars list, but just in case you see me here: I'll try to get hold of Kathy tomorrow and see if I an have her contact you. It would be great to see you there! I can guarantee it's well worth the price: this will be our fifth in a row we've attended and they are always great.

Bump: so, who's in for Jensen East 2018? This is going to be a good one (not that they aren't all good) but special in a lot of ways. I hear we are going to have a sizable contingent from Britain making it a part of their USA tour.

Great news !! The program looks really interesting. Mark and I just sent in our registrations....and really looking forward to this event...and the visitation of the Brits with their Jensens...won't that be great!!! Plus seeing all my Jensen friends again.

Presently I am repairing some damage to my muffler hanger on the Interceptor and Mark is addressing some fuse block problems on his JH, but barring a catastrophe, we will see all of you there...

I don't see any problems. I'll have my Interceptor problems with the mufflers fixed and while the EFI system will not be completely installed, I'll probably still be running with the carburetor...no problem. Mark is installing a new larger fuse box in his JH and is now convinced that he is at mortal risk unless he installs sway bars on his JH. Although he's driven it for years without them, he now is becoming paranoid, I think. Insists he can change over the a arms and such to accommodate the front bar and while I think it should be done by professionals, he insists he can do it alone,,,I only foresee a big mess, but he is adamant that he can do it. I'll just sit back and watch the catastrophe of removing the front suspension without knowing how to do it... You probably know what I am talking about. The factory installed many front ends with the fitting for the sway bar reversed, requiring they be switched so the sway bar can be attached. I want him to take it to our usual front end pros, but he refuses...I have a suspicion, that while he is coming to the event, he will be riding with me in the Interceptor.

Greetings from Down Under

By sheer coincidence I will be in the north east of the US in the first 3 weeks of June. North Carolina is but a hop skip and a jump away; I once drove 6 hours for a round of golf with a mate and then went home again...

So there's a (albeit remote) chance we may drop in.

That is just great. So, unless Mark is not driving his JH, you can ride with me in the Interceptor...I'll even let you drive.

Frank, you realise we drive on the wrong side of the road down here? :)

No, problem...I'll be here to guide you. I remember the first time I drove in the UK. We rented a car in London and I drove the wife and children down to Sussex to visit distant cousins. I had bad time keeping on the "correct" side of the road...and when in a taxi sitting up front I was quite nervous as I had no brake to press on or steering wheel to hold on to...weird feeling, indeed.

Which reminds me - does anyone have a contact email for Don and Kathy? I need to get some $ to them but haven't used cheques (=checks) in years and I suspect their bank may be nonplussed with one in $AUS.

Our Tour de US is shaping up nicely. The Spender in Chief has worked out that all being well we should be able to squeeze in a couple of days in North Carolina.

This all came about when my daughter landed a working holiday in Wisconsin over the northern summer; she 'accidentally' booked herself a week extra in NY on the way there. My wife and I were going to go to Yulara (Google that...) but for a few more $ and a lot of frequent flyer points we get to check out the Land of the Free.

It's a small world.

She'll be working as a camp counsellor teaching photography at Camp America somewhere near Milwaukee (which of course is IN Wisconsin; not enough coffee this morning - but which narrows it down to a million places I suspect!).

I got this from Kathy McLaughlin today(kmc@chesnet.net):

It is good news, and bad, that we have reached our capacity limit for the venues!

Because of that, the registration is closed for the 2018 Jensen East event in Black Mountain, NC.

If you planned on coming to the event and have not sent in your registration, get in touch with me immediately.

The registration and payment must be received by May 25, 2018. This is a drop-dead date.

Any registration received after that date will be returned to you.

We have more people coming than ever expected and very excited about seeing everyone.

We are looking forward to fun, great drives and lots of laughter!

First I have heard about this , the usual “rule” has been the more the merrier.
Well just checked and looks like some of the activity venues have reached capacity, our little secret of what a great time to be had by attending this amazing event is starting to get out and be heard, there is a group of cars and people coming all the way from England . So I would suggest contact Kathy ASAP, and next year in Saint Louis, book early.

A nice problem to have.

I sent a note to Don and Kathy on 15 May about how to get payment to them by way of anything but a cheque (check) but got no reply... Ringing is difficult because of the time difference. I will email again I guess.

We were lucky enough to be able to spend a few days at the Jensen East Coast meet in Black Mountain, North Carolina recently. People came from all over the US.

It was great to put names to faces; for my sins I am a member of the JOC (UK) and the Jensen-Healey Preservation Society. There were about 100+ attendees, with a largish contingent from the UK as well. There were well over 50 cars there too, the greatest number of Jensens I have ever seen in a single place.

Almost all models were represented including a couple of 541s, CV8s, lots of Interceptors (with three really nice convertibles) and heaps of Jensen-Healeys.

The event was admirably managed by Don and Kathy Pritchard. Hats off to them, everything went well, a thoroughly well organised series of events and time to yourself made the whole event a great success. There were poker runs, winding roads to test 45 y.o cars engines and handling, a couple of minor breakdowns, BBQs and more.

We donated a bag of roo poo to a charity silent auction held (actually choccies the size and shape of kangaroo dung but with what I hope a much better taste) as part of the proceedings.

One of the final events was a car show in the centre of town, attended by thousands.

Afterwards as we were sans a Jensen, we rented a Mustang convertible and drove up to Washington DC along the Blue Ridge Parkway, spent a few days there and are now in Boston.

It’s been well worth the 27 hour plane flight. They say you only live once but I will need two lives to pay for it all!
