I have tried looking for the engine #on 10571. Am I correct in thinking it is just above the starter on the block? If it is not there where else could it be? I have looked everywhere else that I think it could be and don't see it!

It is on the engine side of the transmission adapter flange just above the starter.

I have 3 engines and one of them does not have the engine number in the standard location as well, not sure why, but I did find it stamped under the engine, located in the rear of the engine on the flat section the oil pan bolts to, you would have to get under the car to see it. I can send a PM photo if you can't find it.

That would be appreciated. I just came from looking all over and still can't find it. Is it near the dip stick? Is it the same size as the letters that are near the starter. Mine is left hand drive. Is it on the side of the case or on one of the pieces that stick out where the pan is bolted to? On the other engine I have I found the # in the usual spot and the letters are almost a 1/2 inch tall. Which if they are that big it should be easy to find. mmmdaddy57@yahoo.com
