I'm thinking about adding an auxiliary relay box to trigger the high load systems like the headlights and fuel pump to preserve the wiring harness and switches.
Anyone try this before? Any pitfalls?
Thought I'd mount it on the driver's side under the dash.
Thanks

Not at all...I use three relays and tap into the horn, high and low beams wiring right in front of the radiator..one lead from the battery and I use a four fuse box with cover usually found in car parts stores. You can fuse each function accordingly and have one left for fog lamps or electric radiator fan. You can get these relays and plug in harnesses for them at MCM Electronics on the Internet..dirt cheap..you will pay big bucks for such relays in the car parts stores.
I do this on all the JHs that come my way....and on a couple of GTs,too.
I mount all the relays on the right fender side..works just great..I can send a picture if you like...
