Dear all

Am finally getting my Mk1 JH back on the road after a layoff. So far so good.

I am trying to track down an adjusting wrench for the timing belt tensioner for the Mk 1 motor. It's a bit of a specialised tool, a 38mm flat spanner that has a 90 degree angle at its head in order to get behind the bearings.

In hindsight should have converted to the Mk2 setup, but hindsight is a perfect science...

If you have one lying around I'd be happy to buy it!

If you can't score a J-H OEM tool, then check with your local bicycle repair shop. Ask to see their selection of headset wrenches. They're usually stamped or laser cut out of steel plate, and quite thin. You would have to bend the handle yourself. This headset wrench is the wrong size, but just offered as an example:

I have quite the set of Park bike tools. They will not torque or flex sideways when you put the cheater bar to them. Quality stuff

Well, the answer was of course to upgrade to the MK2 tensioner setup, but in the course of my travels I have now got a tensioner wrench for the Mk1 cam belt.

Happy to lend to anyone in need; coming from Oz it is of course Boomerang Brand:
