Hi

I've got a fairly good dashboard but the Vinyl coating is very discoloured. Has anyone had any experience with re -painting using one of the many plastic/vinyl spray paints on the market. I’m considering using a satin black.

Yes,
I've used paint for the vinyl trim on the side the vinyl posts. It comes out nice and clean but too glossy for my liking.

Hi Lash

Can you remember what type of paint you used? Most paints can be got in Matt, Satin & Gloss. I'm fancying satin.

Thanks

I have just used Duplicolor ,fabric vinyl paint in a Flat finish .it is a little glossy ,I would had described it as a satin finish though.
It looks pretty good in general and has really freshened up the interior trim pieces.
Can'say anything about wear though as I have not finished reinstalling all the bits

Eastwood advertises a 2step finish that might be worth trying

Got any ideas for a chrome paint for the eyeball vents ?

I looked at the eye ball vents and decided as all the paint had worn off to leave them black. You can get chrome spray paint bit the one I got for my rear light reflectors turned out to be just very glossy silver.

I did try the chrome paint and it did lookalike a very bright silver ,but it was very soft and scratched quite easily .i then sprayed it with a clear gloss coat and it turned a mid grey !
I will paint them gloss black :-(
