The work Viva shop manual I have does not cover the 1800 just the 1159cc to 1256cc, 1970 to 1977, but it does show the same rear axle that is fitted to the JH, standard ratio is 4.125:1 a sport version 3.89:1, there was some talk in the past that a limited slip version was also available but very rare and desirable.

JH ratio for the 4 speed 3.727:1 5 speed 3.45:1. per manual.

Hi

Don't know if you got a clear answer yet but if it helps, in the UK the Viva 1800 had the same axle as the JH with the 3.727 ratio, as it's a later 1975 model it may have a flat bottom to the diff housing casting, this was a later mod by Vauxhall to increase the oil capacity slightly.

All the best

Clive
