Hi,

I have bought an engine stand as shown on the attached photo.
The engine have to be fixed by 4 bolt using the threads where the gear box normally attaches to the engine.
I am concerned that the break forces will break the alu casting on the engine.
have som of you tried to mount a 907 engine in one of those stands, and if yes is there anything special I have to consider.
I would really harte to damage the block :-)

Best regards
Kim

I've had mine on the same type of stand for months and regularly move it round the Garage to make space. The 907 is a very light engine.

If you want i can send a photo of how its attached.

Try to mount it so the mount points are as far from eachother as possible and you should be fine. That reduces the pull/push on the mount points. The case is strong enough, I had one fully built hanging on the stand for quite a while without any problem.

The VW boxers weight almost the same and the official engine stand only has two bolts...

Thanks a lot guys,
Roland11a if you can post an image it would be helpful.
I guess that I have to stay away from the threads for the starter?

ok will do. you can use the threaded holes for the starter if you use the correct size bolt into the exiting threads. Just remember the Lotus 907 engine is Metric
