My brake booster has a significant vacuum leak and needs to be rebuilt. What is the best way to go about this? Are there kits avaliable to do it yourself or is it better to send it out? Thanks.

You can do it yourself BUT you really need to know what your doing, there is a big spring inside that if you just relase it could kill you, and if it doesn't once your done you have to recompress it and close the whole thing up. Personaly I would send it out I think there is a link on this site to a place in OH that does them for around $80 if memory serve's me right.

Called him today and he does the JH boosters as well as TR6 ones. Its $120 to rebuild plus $30 for powdercoating. Pulled it from the car today and shipping it out tomorrow.

Any word on how this worked out? I think I may have a booster rebuild in my future.
