Ordering a rebuilt Dizzy and received the following comment from the supplier;

"Your car came with a vacuum retard distributor, and I don't think there is room for the vacuum advance distributor you just purchased. Normally I'll build a vacuum-delete distributor for a JH, plus they need an additional shaft oil seal."

So, what should I tell him, with or without vacuum capsule?

BTW its a 74 MKII with Strombergs.

Most people run vacuum delete. The retard was for pollution control and is the opposite to what the engine needs. Vacuum advance would be ideal but nobody seems to have done any work specifying how much advance would be best for the JH.
