I just replaced my 2 piece driveshaft (propshaft) when I was told that doing the suppert bearing replacement was a waist of time. So I had my local driveline shop make a new one piece with all new fittings and u-joints.

I installed the shaft and had some vibrations. It did not thump as before with the broken shaft bearing but I am a little concerned in lower gears with the vibration that I am experiencing???

Anyone have similar experiences with the 2 piece to one piece shaft conversion?

You should no longer need a suppert bearing???

Replaced mine with a one piece shaft about four years ago without any problems. Nice upgrade. No need for a support bearing. I left the cross member  that held the bearing since it didn't interfere with the new shaft.

I have to agree with Mike.  If the driveshaft has the correct parts and is made by a proper shop, and tested / balanced to 7000 rpm, it works fine.

Have this in YELODOG with no problems at all.  Lots of track time at 6500 rpm...........
