I have all the parts to complete the brake job. What color were the drums and rotors painted originally? Are the tin dust shield on the front rotors needed? Do they hinder brake cooling? Thanks Steve

Those came with black paint. I'd leave on the dust shields, they do provide a useful service on road cars.
