Does anyone have the SKF or Timken part numbers for the front wheel bearings? If I can find the correct bearings locally, that will save me a lot of time, money and hassle. -- Joachim

yes it is, but I dont recall if it is the early 2 bearings together, or the later larger single one. A price check would tell the larger is significantly more.

Got hold of two sets of SKF L44649/610 and one set LM11749/710 (still have one set of those from earlier) from the local industrial parts supplier, they had them in stock. Will have a go at changing them this weekend. But, just to make sure: I am supposed to press the cups in until they bottom out against the diameter step, correct? Bearings are expensive enough when you need them in a hurry that I don't want to ruin them from stupid mistakes... -- Joachim

That's correct, they need to be "seated", also if you clean up the hub you will notice a cut out in the seat that makes getting the old ones out easier by tapping from behind.
