New to the JH world. Wanted one forever and finally picked one up last fall in upstate NY, stored it for the winter. It now lives happily in eastern Massachusetts, a weekend car only. (Rumor has it that it was originally purchased by Connie Chung of CBS in California).

Here we go -
1974 MK II
VIN 15566, with 70,000 miles.
First things first, an oil change. I have drained the oil and will fill it with Castrol GTX 20w-50 and will install a WIX 51068 filter. My dilemma is how much oil to use. According to the manual, new oil capacity with a filter change is either 15.9 pints or 12.0 pints, depending on the engine.

I have looked all over my engine to get its number and found three:
7754E
BD 277
D 907E 00504
Which one is it? Or none of these.

If someone could help, I would appreciate it. Also, if there is a way to run a build sheet for my car that would be great too. I think it was once red now it’s racing green.

Next up, belts. Thanks

The engine number is on the left rear flange just above the valve covers, it should read something like B74 02 12345. The "B" number is the year then the month then the motor number itself.

The motor is very sensitive to over filling so don't.

Thanks. I'll look again.
