I know that it has been almost 3 years since this question was posted but since I needed that answer, I will post it here. According to Greg Fletcher's article on rebuilding the master cylinder, the Reservoir is a one way push fit. Since I have been "gently" trying to persuade it to come out, mine has an almost 1/4" travel. Once it is rebuilt, I will use a circlip to keep the reservoir lip snug against the top of the master cylinder. So if you are searching the forums on how to remove the master cylinder reservoir, DON'T REMOVE IT!! And be sure to read Greg's articles.
