 2/17/10 update
After repairing one leak another came to its funeral. Enough!!  took it to a Tank-Renu franchise in Stockton.  His assessment was that it was made of a very soft un-alloyed aluminum and "rolled" into shapes.  "A very poor material choice" It will be pressure tested at 4psi, all leaks welded up and coated inside and out.
