| Assigned you a new VIN? My JH is registered in VA, using its true 5 digit VIN. The cars VIN is what it is. Maybe you could suggest they put 12 zeros in front of it if they absoloutely need a 17 digit VIN? I didn't have to do that; VA DMV registered my car in 2002 with no problem at all. I suggest you go up the chain of command at your local DMV until you get someone who realizes the problems a randomly assigned VIN could cause you should you ever sell the car, or if you move and need to retitle it in another state.
