I was installing one of Pete's Damper Kits to my MkII this weekend only to be surprised to find a crack in my firewall. I didn't think I would have to be welding a straightening plate to my fire wall. It may be a good idea to take a small mechanics mirror and look under your mounting bracket to your firewall and see what's going on. By the way, the new damper (shock) is more than 2X larger than the original. It's a big improvement over the stock one. Dan Collier 74JH 14381 2.2L JHPPG[code]
