 Carpet and seats done. Decided to stay with the creaky MK 1 center console rather than the MK II, mainly because I could make the shifter gaiter/boot work without a lot of effort — ready to be done with this project for a while. I shortened the ebay shifter and re-used the 4-spd ball, just seemed right to me.

The Regen seat covers are really nice — the driver’s side seat back cover was a bit larger than the existing foam for some reason, though, so I used a bit of foam from the original seat bottom (which I replaced) to fill the gap.
