 the shop manuals are written almost as an afterthought, and unless they had been required, would likely not have been made(the 4 speed tm. and the differential section aren't too bad).
The underside of the water pump has a "weep" hole, and any fluid coming out from there will mean the pump needs rebuilding.
Spray some "electrical cleaner"(CRC is readily available): around the area, and start the car and look for exactly where it is coming from(hopefully not the head gasket.0
