It read 38 pounds. Maybe that's why it was off a tooth.The KR-1 has two scales. Are you sure you read 38 on the POUNDS scale. If so, with a black trapezoidal tooth belt, 38 pounds on a KR-1 equates to about 69 lbs on a Burroughs gauge. That's way loose! Count yourself lucky to have only had one pulley jump one tooth. It could have been far worse.
