The brake booster is fairly easy to remove without having to remove the entire pedal box assembly:
a universal and long socket along with a long extension(and maybe some kid if you don't flex much anymore) will have it off quickly, especially if one has the modern 18 or 20 volt impact wrenches so common now.
Be sure to put some "sealer" (such as Permatex #2, Hylomar or equivalent) around the interface so water won't get on your tootsies when it rains.
