 used a pair of needle nose pliers, worked it back and forth (turns out it is just a steel piece with a hole in the center) until it came out. My speedo cable pinion is just fine. The issue is the tailshaft has NO drive gear on it. So it looks like I drive it with no speedo until I feel like pulling the transmission out and hunting for 93130.
