Up to today little red ran just under the halfway point on the temp gauge. Today after an oil change on the ride home the temp gauge went almost to the red. As I started to pull over the temp started to go down. In a couple of minutes it went all the way down to the C mark. Then it started to move back up to the red. This happened a few times up and down on the ride home. I checked the cooling system. The radiator is a triple core aluminum under a year old. It is full with no lost coolant or any leaks. The water pump, belt and fan are all new, also under a year old and are working properly with no strange sounds. My thought is the thermostat but I am open for suggestions as to the cause and fix.
