Just my 2 cents: Wheel adaptors are not all created equal. In a perfect world, you would use only a very high quality, hub centric, adaptor that is custom made for your car and wheel- that is the adaptor bolts onto your existing 4" pattern and the new wheel fits the adaptor wheel center precisely, but almost every wheel is different inside, so you can't really get a hub centric fit until you know which wheel you are using. Plus, these are expensive. Just sticking on generic spacers is ill advised- you'd be much better off with a wheel that fits your bolt pattern to start with.
