The Toyota 5 Speed project is coming along really well. I was able to put the shifter lever in a vise and bend the lower portion of the shaft forward by 2 1/2 inches with great success. As you can see in the photos, the lever doesn't come in contact with the forward nor rear positions inside the console. I have the spare shifter out at a local machine shop were they will fabricate a 4 inch steel extension. It will be threaded to the Jensen-Healey shift knob and chromed plated later this week.
