 Got the pilot bearing out. Used the grease method. First using a ball pein hammer and being a little timid which didn't work. Then used a small sledge hammer with some power and it came right out. Took about half a dozen hits, filling the hole with grease between each whack. Not difficult. New one tapped in with piece of wood until it was level, then final seating with a 9/16" deep socket.
